Homeopathic Remedies for Chemotherapy Support The remedies listed here are intended only for the relief of some of the unpleasant side effects of chemotherapy treatment. These remedies are not to be considered as a substitute for or an adjunct to cancer treatments. They are, however, safe and do not interfere with the chemotherapy treatment itself. Gelsemium 6c: This remedy is known for its usefulness in calming anticipatory anxiety, such as stage fright. It may prove helpful to people experiencing fear and anxiety prior to treatment. Nervousness and weak trembling may be present, indicating the need for this remedy. Gelsemium 6c can be taken two to three times prior to chemotherapy treatment.
Ipecac 30c: Persistent nausea and vomiting are symptoms indicating the possible usefulness of this remedy. Individuals will likely have a clean tongue with a lot of saliva. They do not feel better when lying down or after vomiting. Ipecac 30c can be taken three to four times every fifteen to thirty minutes and discontinued when the nausea subsides.
Nux vomica 6c: This remedy may be helpful for individuals with a hangover feeling accompanied by nausea and vomiting. They will likely be very sensitive to all loud noises, odors, and lights. Symptoms of chilliness and irritability may be present. Nux vomica 6c can be taken three to four times per day for one to two days and discontinued when symptoms diminish.
Cadmium sulphuricum 30c: Cadmium sulphuricum is a little-known remedy for the vomiting and debilitating exhaustion that sometimes follows chemotherapy treatment. Individuals needing this remedy will be very chilly with intense nausea. Cadmium sulphuricum 30c can be taken three times per day for one to two days and discontinued when nausea and vomiting subside.
Cantharis 6c: This remedy can be used to ease the discomfort of skin burns resulting from radiation treatment. The pain may be described as raw, burning, and resembling a sunburn. It is relieved by cold applications. Try Cantharis 6c every three to four hours until relief is obtained.
